- A real builder has a weld bay, a paint line and an assembly floor. Ask for a video walk past the welding jigs and the serial-plate stamping; a trader will offer the catalogue instead.
- What certification is needed to import agricultural machinery & equipment into the EU or US?
- For the EU, machinery needs CE marking with a risk assessment, and EN ISO 4254 covers agricultural machines specifically. Tractors and loaders need ROPS/FOPS certification. The US has no federal type approval, but ANSI/ASABE standards set the liability baseline for the importer.
- What order minimums and tooling costs should I expect?
- Usually one unit for a finished machine — tooling is not what constrains you. Spare-part supply is. Agree parts availability and pricing in the same contract, because a machine nobody can service is a write-off in year two.
- What goes wrong most often in this category?
- The frame is rarely the problem; the bought-in drivetrain is. Gearboxes and bearings are where cost gets taken out after the sample. Name the bearing and gearbox brands in the purchase order.
